Warnings/Notes:Soundwave-centric, this fic is the immediate sequel to 'Descant' in the 'Sound and Fury' series. It takes place in the same continuity as 'Giants of the Earth', but is set hundreds of thousands of years earlier, on prewar Cybertron. The character designs, for the most part, are movie-verse with the addition of G1 colors and minor modifications as needed. Warnings for euthanasia and combat-style violence in this chapter.

Soundwave dropped, feeling the sizzle of superheated atmosphere as the blade scythed over backplates and folded sensory arrays. He dived to one side, rolling, ducking each new brutal swing, the warframe using blade and sheer bulk in tandem to push the lighter, less-armored carrier back across the arena. A glancing hit scythed deep into one pauldron, sending him reeling backwards. Sensing victory, the recruit lunged forward, intent upon cleaving Soundwave in two.

As in 'Giants': I'm using the DOTM novelization ending, not the movie ending--thus Megatron is still alive, and--for the moment--has a truce with Optimus, in exchange for the Decepticons leaving Earth to rebuild Cybertron.

Cybertronians are a lot harder to kill than humans ever thought, and Sam's not sure whether or not that's a good thing ....

In which the twins are temporally anomalous, are sent back to the past, Starscream is a civilian, Sunstreaker gets arrested, joins the pre-Decepticon forces, gets Wheeljack arrested and plots Sideswipe's death. Sideswipe...is himself. Everything is Sideswipe's fault. Some of it is Wheeljack's but the beginning and end and everything in the middle is Sideswipe's. And there's Red Alert in the background somewhere. Just because.
